The baritone Rui Baeta began his musical studies at the Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina. At the age of 18, he entered the Universidade Nova de Lisboa to study Art History, while continuing to study Singing with Filomena Amaro at the Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa. That same year he was also admitted to the Coro Gulbenkian with whom he collaborated as a chorister and soloist for about 10 years.
After his university graduation, Rui Baeta continued his artistic development in institutions of high cultural merit such as the Fondation Hindemith in Switzerland, the Academie Francis Poulenc in France, where he studied under the guidance of François LeRoux, and the Mozarteum Akademie in Austria, where he studied under Richard Miller. As a solo singer, he has performed several recitals and concerts, in Portugal and abroad, and has performed with several prestigious orchestras such as the Nacional do Porto, Cascais e Oeiras, Orquestra Clássica do Sul, Orquestra das Beiras, Camerata du Rhône, Lyon, Ensemble D’Arcos, Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, and the Orquestra da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, with whom he has performed a vast and eclectic repertoire in opera and oratory.
