#OAORQUESTRA
The leitmotif for this concert is Brazil, which has always been home to great musicians, composers and performers. The music of José Pedro de Sant'Anna Gomes, a native of Campinas, where he was born a decade after Brazil's independence and therefore one of the first composers of Brazilian nationality, will be performed. There will be no shortage of warm rhythms and a swing that, despite being music from the 19th century, already foreshadows the Brazilian flavour that we know from other genres today.
Before that, there's also room for the Gran Quintetto by Bottesini, a virtuoso of the double bass, an instrument that is emphasised in this string quintet formation.
